What is Preventive (Wellness) Care?

Preventive care includes services that help detect or stop serious illnesses before they become major health issues. Examples include annual check-ups, immunizations, flu shots, and certain screenings.

To be covered, you must use an In-Network doctor for preventive care services. This type of care may also be called routine care or wellness care. If your plan has Preventive Care coverage it is important that your Doctor submits these claims with the proper Preventive Care code.

IMPORTANT: Not all plans International Student Health Insurance Plans cover Preventive Care and some have sublimits on what is covered, so review your plan details carefully to confirm whether this coverage is included.
