What You Need to Know

All VISIT® J-Visa insurance plans are designed for:

  • J-1 Scholars

  • J-2 Dependents (family members)

  • Cultural Exchange Visitors

To remain compliant with U.S. Department of State rules, make sure you choose a plan that includes:

  • At least $100,000 in Medical Coverage per accident/illness

  • Repatriation of Remains in the amount of $25,000

  • Expenses associated with the Medical Evacuation of the Scholar or Exchange Visitor to

    his or her home country in the amount of $50,000

  • A Deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness 

  • Coverage under an insurance carrier with the required rating (e.g., A.M. Best rating “A-” or above)(This is the minimum required for all J-1 visa holders.)
